Any agency or organization the primary purpose of which is to
serve youth under the age of 18 and which receives funding from the
County of Suffolk must certify that all employees or volunteers have
been the subject of an inquiry made to the New York State Sex Offender
Registry and that no employee or volunteer of said organization is
listed on the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
The certification required by this article shall be in the form
of a sworn statement signed by an officer or director of the agency
or organization and shall be submitted with any voucher for payment
made to the County of Suffolk.
Failure to certify employees and volunteers shall result in
a first-time warning; a second offense will result in a fifty-percent
loss of funding for that contracted program; and a third offense shall
result in a loss of the contract for a minimum of two years.
