A. 
Pursuant to § 1402 of the Real Property Tax Law, the Village of Interlaken shall cease to be an assessing unit, and Village taxes shall hereafter be levied on a copy of the applicable part of the town assessment roll.
B. 
Upon the adoption of this article pursuant to the requirement of a permissive referendum of § 24 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, the Village shall cease to be an assessing unit and the provision of the Real Property Tax Law and the Village Law relative to the making and reviewing of assessments shall thereafter not apply to the Village of Interlaken.
In no event shall this article's effective date alter the method of levying the Village taxes for the year 1987-1988, and the Village shall not cease to be an assessing unit until after such Village taxes are levied.
