[Adopted 6-23-1976 (Ch. XXVII, Art. 1D, of the 1975 Code)]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTOR VEHICLE OWNER; OPERATOR
The registered owner of a motor vehicle shall be presumed to be the operator of such motor vehicle.
NO-PARKING ZONE
A no-parking zone is that portion of any Town road, street, or highway designated by the Selectmen pursuant to § 236-9 of this article for the purpose of safe unobstructed flow of traffic.
The Board of Selectmen may designate any portion of any Town street, road or highway as a no-parking zone, with reasonable restrictions regarding time or condition of said zone.
No person shall park or permit to stand a motor vehicle on any Town road for more than five hours between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
A. 
Upon finding any motor vehicle parked or standing in any no-parking zone or on any Town street, road or highway in violation of § 263-8 of this article any state police officer, constable, or Town police officer may:
(1) 
Attach a notice of violation to said vehicle that it has been illegally parked; or
(2) 
Direct the towing of said vehicle to any public or private garage or location designated by the Board of Selectmen, all expenses for said towing, including storage, being borne by the registered owner of said vehicle.
B. 
The fine for any notice of violation paid within five days of issuance shall be the sum of $5 and after 10 days said fine shall be the sum of $10. Payment of all fines shall be to the Town and payment shall be in lieu of a court appearance. Failure to pay any fine shall subject the owner to arrest.[1]
