Section 9-183 of the Connecticut General Statutes provides that the number of Justices of the Peace for each town shall be equal to 1/3 the number of jurors to which such town is by law entitled; by law the Town is entitled to 72 jurors, and there is no need for the election of 24 Justices of the Peace in the Town.
Section 9-183 of the Connecticut General Statutes provides that the Town may, by ordinance, provide for the election of a lesser number of Justices of the Peace for such Town.

Until further action by the legislative authority of this Town, the number of Justices of the Peace for this Town is fixed at 18.

In accordance with the amended and restated certificate of incorporation of the Levi E. Coe Library Association, the Board of Selectmen, on or before the 31st day of January 1974, shall appoint six inhabitants of the Town to serve as Library Board members. Two Library Board members shall each serve for a term of one year; two shall each serve for a term of two years; and two shall serve for a term of three years. Annually thereafter, the Board of Selectmen of the Town shall appoint two inhabitants of the Town, each to serve as Library Board member for a term of three years. Vacancies shall be filled by the Board of Selectmen for the unexpired portion of the term.
