This article shall be known as the "Office of Municipal Clerk."
There is hereby established by and within the Borough of Ridgefield
the Office of Municipal Clerk.
The Municipal Clerk shall be appointed, and shall serve, pursuant
to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133 et seq.
A.
The Municipal Clerk shall perform the duties specified by, and have
the authority provided by, New Jersey statutes, including, but without
limitation, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133 et seq.
B.
The Municipal Clerk shall perform such duties as may be assigned
by the Mayor and Council pursuant to municipal ordinance.[1]

Editor's Note: Former Subsection C, which provided the Municipal
Clerk be the supervising authority over certain other positions, which
immediately followed this subsection, was repealed 5-4-2016 by Ord.
No. 2301.
