[Ord. 1989-2, 2/28/1989, § 1]
There is hereby established a fire hydrant district, which district
shall be coterminous with the boundaries of Manchester Township.
[Ord. 1989-2, 2/28/1989, § 2]
The Board of Supervisors shall annually assess, by resolution,
the cost and expense of such fire protection service by an equal assessment
upon all property, whether or not exempt from taxation by existing
law, within 780 feet of any fire hydrant approved by the Manchester
Township Fire Chief, based upon the assessment for County purposes.
No such assessment shall be levied against any farm land or land used
as an aviation field or against other property in the district not
benefited thereby. Such assessment shall be collected by the Tax Collector
in the same manner as taxes and the Tax Collector shall receive the
same commission as on the Township tax.
[Ord. 1989-2, 2/28/1989, § 3]
The Township Treasurer shall receive all such assessments collected
for fire protection and keep the same in a separate account and shall
pay the same out only upon orders approved by the Board of Supervisors
and attested by the Township Secretary. The Treasurer shall make a
report to the auditors of the Township annually of the activity in
this account.
