This article shall be known as the "City of Pottsville Blighted
Property Review Committee Ordinance."
This article may be cited as the "City of Pottsville Blighted
Property Review Committee Ordinance."
The City Council hereby creates the City of Pottsville Blighted
Property Review Committee pursuant to the Urban Redevelopment Law
of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 35 P.S. § 1701 et seq.
The City Council shall appoint five members to this duly organized
committee. Membership shall include at least one member of City Council,
one member of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Pottsville,
one member of the City of Pottsville Planning Commission, and two
additional members to be designated by City Council. These two additional
members shall be residents of Pottsville and may also be members of
City Council, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Pottsville,
the City of Pottsville Planning Commission, or the Schuylkill County
Municipal Authority.
The Blighted Property Review Committee and any records generated
by same shall be part of City government and administered by the Mayor
and City Administrator.
The City Council may, in its sole discretion, allocate any funds
necessary to accomplish the purposes of the Blighted Property Review
Committee as stated in the Urban Redevelopment Law of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, 35 P.S. § 1701 et seq.
