The slaughtering, killing or dressing of cattle,
swine or sheep shall not be allowed within the limits of this Township
except in regularly authorized slaughterhouses without a permit for
that purpose from the Division of Health, and no slaughterhouse or
slaughterhouses shall be allowed in this Township unless a permit
for that purpose shall have been granted by the Division. No such
permit shall be issued by the Division of Health unless there shall
have been paid to the Division for the issuance thereof and for the
proper inspection and supervision of the slaughtering, killing or
dressing of cattle, swine or sheep, and for the proper inspection
and supervision of the premises where such slaughtering, killing or
dressing shall be carried on, the sum of $350.
Each permit issued under the provisions of this
article shall continue for the term of one year from the date of granting
of same; provided, however, that if any person or persons so licensed
as aforesaid or any of his employees, servants or agents shall violate
any of the provisions of this article or the rules and regulations
of the Division of Health regulating the slaughtering, killing or
dressing of cattle, swine or sheep or the cleansing and purification
of the premises where such business is carried on, such permit may,
at the discretion of the Division of Health, be revoked.
The owners or operators of any such slaughterhouse
shall not cause, suffer or allow any obnoxious or offensive odors
or smoke to escape or to be discharged from such building or premises
to the detriment or annoyance of such persons not being therein or
thereon engaged.
It shall be the duty of every person or persons
owning or operating a slaughterhouse within the limits of this Township
to keep the building or place or any part thereof and the yards and
appurtenances thoroughly cleansed and purified, and to remove therefrom
all offal, blood, fat, garbage, refuse and all offensive matter at
least once in every 24 hours after the use thereof, and it shall be
the duty of every such person or persons to comply with such rules
and regulations as shall from time to time be promulgated by the Division
of Health of this Township.
