There is hereby created a local Industrial Commission to be known as the "Industrial Commission of the Township of South Hackensack."
The Commission shall consist of seven members and shall be a body corporate having the powers enumerated in Chapter 55B of Title 40 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey.
The members of the Commission shall be appointed in the manner and for the terms as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:55B-5.
Insofar as it may be practical, the employees and assistants required by the Commission shall be recruited from the public officers and employees of the Township of South Hackensack. The Township Attorney shall be the counsel to the Commission; the Township Engineer shall be the engineer of the Commission, and the several departments of the Township of South Hackensack shall be available to the Commission for the purposes of the Commission's business. Municipal employees serving the Commission shall do so without compensation other than their regular compensation as employees of the municipality.
In addition to the other powers provided in N.J.S.A. 40:55B-7 and 55B-8, the Commission is hereby authorized to acquire title to vacant land owned by the municipality for use as rights-of-way for railroad sidings and to sell or lease the same to industries within the municipality or to the New Jersey and New York Railroad Company or to other operators of such railroad sidings.
