[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Branchville 3-18-1992 by Ord. No. 2a-92. Amendments noted where applicable.]
All buildings and vacant land established in the Borough of Branchville shall be numbered for proper identification and for fire, police and medical emergencies.
The owner shall place upon the main building the assigned number in numerical or written (English) form.
The size of the number required to be placed shall be not less than three inches in height. It shall be placed, if possible, in a conspicuous location on the street-facing portion of the building at a location to provide a clear identification of the number.
Where possible, the number shall be placed so as to be illuminated by existing outside lighting.
Where the building is so situated as to prevent the unaided eye from reading the number from the street, the number shall be displayed on an appropriate marker, post or on the mailbox adjacent to the driveway or walkway leading to the building.
No number shall be placed upon any building for the purpose of this chapter unless said number shall be that number which has been assigned under the authority of this chapter and corresponds with the number assigned on the Building Numbers Map on file in the Municipal Office of the Borough of Branchville.
[Amended 1-16-2008 by Ord. No. 01-2008]
A person who shall refuse, fail or neglect to comply with any provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties provided by § 145 of this Code.
