[Adopted 8-24-1977 by L.L. No. 3-1977]
The Town Board finds that the keeping of dangerous wild animals, as hereinafter defined, within the confines of the Town of Greenville poses potential health and safety hazards toward the well-being of persons and property within the Town and, accordingly, desires to control such dangers by the prohibitions set forth in this chapter.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
DANGEROUS WILD ANIMAL
Any or all of the following categories of animals:
A. 
All primates.
B. 
All carnivores, tamed or otherwise, whose species is normally found in a wild environment, but excluding domesticated household pets, such as dogs and cats.
C. 
All venomous lizards.
D. 
All venomous snakes.
E. 
Any wildlife shown as being capable of inflicting serious or fatal injuries.
From the effective date of this article, no person, corporation or other entity shall transport into the Town or keep within the confines of the Town, whether by cage, chain or other means, any dangerous wild animals as defined in this article.
Violation of this article shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor.
