This chapter may be known and referred to as the "Warren County Building Maintenance Code."

The Building Inspections Department is hereby designated to act as the enforcing agency for the enforcement of Part III, Virginia Maintenance Code, of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, duly adopted by the Virginia Board of Housing and Community Development under authority of §§ 36-98 and 36-103, Code of Virginia. Enforcement shall be according to the terms of this chapter.

The enforcement procedures of Part III, Virginia Maintenance Code, shall be instituted by the Building Official when a written complaint of an unsafe condition is filed with the Building Official or an unsafe condition is discovered by the Building Official. This chapter shall not apply to owner-occupied single-family dwellings.

The Warren County Board of Building Code Appeals is hereby designated as the appeals board to hear appeals arising from the application of the provisions of Part III, Virginia Maintenance Code.

The Building Official shall establish such procedures or requirements as may be necessary for administration and enforcement of this chapter. The procedures are to be approved by the Board of Supervisors.
