A. 
Every member of the Police Department shall, under the supervision of the Police Director, provide for himself the necessary police uniforms, which shall comply with standards and specifications prescribed from time to time by the Township Committee, and shall at all times maintain his uniform in a neat, clean and presentable condition.

B. 
The Township shall reimburse to each member of the Police Department the amount expended by him each year in and about the procurement of the required uniforms, within the allowance specified by the Township Committee for that purpose.
C. 
Each member of the Police Department while on duty shall wear the prescribed uniform, except when assigned to plainclothes duty by the Police Director.

Members of the Police Department shall be entitled to annual vacations in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
The membership status, including any and all pertinent rights of seniority, rank, official title and tenure of office, of each and every member of the Police Department on the date when this chapter shall take effect, shall not be interrupted or impaired by the enactment and taking effect of this chapter.[1]

The Township Committee of the Township shall, at all times, have full power and authority, in its sole discretion, to amend or supplement this chapter and the rules and regulations herein provided and established, to repeal any part or parts of this chapter, to repeal any one or more of the said rules and regulations and to repeal this chapter in it entirety.

When copies of police reports or records are sent by mail by the Township to the purchaser, a minimum handling and mailing charge, as established by Chapter 186, Fees, of the Code of the Township of Franklin, shall be made, which shall include any per-page copy charge. If the requested record exceeds 10 pages, the charge shall be established by N.J.S.A. 47:1A-2.
Each member of the Department shall submit to a medical examination by one of the physicians designated by the Township Committee once per year at Township expense. Failure to do so may result in appropriate disciplinary action.

As provided for in the collective bargaining agreement, each member of the Police Department shall be permitted noncumulative sick leave per year. A certificate made by the Township Physician setting forth the medical cause of any absence in excess of three consecutive days shall be submitted by the member of the Department absent for a period of time in excess of three consecutive days; provided, however, that the Police Director may require such a certificate for any period of absence without regard for the duration thereof.

A. 
Supplementary employment shall be any outside employment undertaken by any officers of the Franklin Township Police Department that does not interfere with the officer's performance of his sworn duty, or the logistical operation and scheduling of the Franklin Township Police Department, and as approved by the Chief of Police, Public Safety Director or officer in charge.
B. 
Any supplemental employment under "color of authority," i.e., road construction, traffic duty, large social gatherings, etc., occurring within the confines of the Township shall be charged to the contractor at $85 per hour, with $65 per hour paid to the employee and $20 per hour paid to the Township.
C. 
Any officer who engages in the supplementary employment outside the confines of the Township which meets the requirements of Subsection A above shall not be supplied with Township equipment other than the items of identification required by law and shall not be covered by any benefits enjoyed while engaged in the performance of his regular Township employment. Compensation for such outside employment shall be paid directly to the employee by the contractor at the prevailing rate.
