The Township Administrator, with the approval of the
Township Committee, may temporarily transfer a clerical or nonsupervisory
employee, in the absence of any contrary collective bargaining provision,
from one office or department to another office or department to perform
the same or similar duties, at the same level of salary and benefits,
in order to meet the interim or emergency need in the office or department
to which the employee is transferred. Said temporary transfer may
be precipitated by, among other things, the shortage of personnel
and/or increase of work load temporarily in the office or department
to which the employee is transferred. Any temporary transfer shall
not exceed six months in any calendar year and shall not be considered
either a promotion or demotion but shall continue to earn the employee
seniority credit.
