A.
There shall be a Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism under
the immediate direction of a Director of Recreation, Parks and Tourism
who shall perform such duties and conduct such work as the County
Executive may require.
B.
It shall be the responsibility of said Department to promote recreation
for the children, youths and adults of Wicomico County. The Department
of Recreation, Parks and Tourism shall perform such duties and functions
relating to the formulation of plans and policies for public recreation,
the organization of recreation councils and the establishment of recreation
programs as, prior to the adoption of this public local law, were
performed by the War Memorial Recreation Commission, subject, nevertheless,
to all provisions of the Charter of Wicomico County and the public
local laws thereof.
