[Adopted 7-18-2005 by L.L. No. 4-2005; approved at referendum 11-8-2005]
The Village Board of the Village of Carthage finds that certain key elective positions within the Village, such as a Village President, would benefit from a longer term of office so as to provide greater continuity for the Village. This position requires a great amount of skill and knowledge and, therefore, there is a need for a longer term. It is the purpose of this article to expand the term of office for Village President from two years to four years.
The Village Board of the Village of Carthage hereby states that henceforth the term of office for Village President shall be four years.
