It is the desire of the Board of Supervisors of Independence Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and said Board of Supervisors hereby signifies its intention to approve the reorganization of the existing Independence Township Municipal Authority, to create a Joint Municipal Authority with Cross Creek Township in Washington County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, under the Act.[1]

In pursuance of said desire and intention and in conformity with the terms and provisions of said Act and its amendments, the proposed Amendment to Articles of Incorporation as established by the Authority and as are set forth herein, are hereby approved, as follows.[1]

The Articles of Incorporation of said Joint Authority and/or the Amendment of the Articles of Incorporation of the existing Authority shall be executed by and on behalf of the Board of Supervisors of Independence Township by the Chairman of said Board, the Seal of said Township shall be thereto affixed and attested by the Secretary. The Solicitor is authorized and directed to cause to be published the Notice of Intention to file the Articles of Incorporation as required by the aforementioned Act, and when said Articles of Incorporation are properly executed by the incorporating municipality, the same shall be filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Therein, upon submission of the Amended Articles of Incorporation by the Authority to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the same shall be adopted and approved by the Township.
This article shall become effective upon the effective date of the passage of a similar ordinance by Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
The Articles of Incorporation of the Independence Township Municipal Authority are hereby amended to conform with the above contained provisions, wherein said Independence Township Municipal Authority shall continue to operate for purposes of constructing, building, erecting or otherwise providing facilities necessary to transport, furnish and distribute water as previously stated in Paragraph F of the original Articles of Incorporation.
