The Village Board hereby declares that the raising of funds for the promotion of bona fide charitable, educational, scientific, health, religious and patriotic causes and undertakings where the beneficiaries are undetermined may be in the best public interest.
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meanings as such words and terms as are defined in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, as amended.
A. 
Games of chance may be conducted any day between 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight. Notwithstanding the above, no games of chance shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day or New Year's Eve.
B. 
The above restrictions shall not apply when only the game of chance known as the "bell jar" is conducted.
All games of chance in the Village will be subject to the provisions of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
No person shall operate any game of chance and no game of chance shall be conducted with any equipment except as authorized by § 195-c of the General Municipal Law.
The Police Department of the Village of Greene shall be required to exercise control over the games of chance conducted under duly authorized licenses. Said Police Department shall have all these powers and duties set forth in and for the enforcement of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
The Village of Greene, pursuant to § 195-t of the General Municipal Law, may collect up to 5% of the licensed organization's net profits derived from the games to help defray the cost of administering this chapter.
This chapter shall take effect upon filing with the Secretary of State.
