In interpreting and applying the provisions
of this chapter, they shall be held to be the minimum requirements
for the promotion of the public safety, health, convenience, comfort,
prosperity and general welfare. It is not intended by this chapter
to interfere with or abrogate or annul any easements, covenants or
other agreements between parties; provided, however, that where this
chapter imposes a greater restriction upon the use of buildings or
premises or requires larger open spaces than are required by other
local laws, rules, regulations or permits or by easements, covenants
or agreements, the provisions of this chapter shall govern.
This chapter shall take effect upon filing with
the Secretary of State. This chapter supersedes, in its entirety,
the previous Village of Greene Zoning Ordinance, and all amendments
thereto and, upon filing with the Secretary of State, all permits,
decisions, building permits, certificates of occupancy, requests for
variance and all other matters having to do with the provisions incorporated
herein shall be interpreted in accordance with this chapter.
