It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a license therefor as provided by Article 14-G of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York,[1] to conduct the game of bingo within the territorial limits of the Town of Greenport, subject to the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of Article 14-G of the General Municipal Law and the provisions of the State Lottery Control Law, which is the short title for Article 19-B of the Executive Law of the State of New York.[2]

This chapter shall not become operative or effective unless and until it shall have been approved by a majority of the qualified electors of such Town of Greenport voting on a proposition therefor submitted at a general or special election held within such Town of Greenport.[1]

The following restrictions are hereby imposed upon the conduct of such game:
A. 
No person, firm, association, corporation or organization other than an authorized organization licensed under the provisions of Article 14-G of the General Municipal Law shall be permitted to conduct such game.
B. 
The entire net proceeds of any game shall be exclusively devoted to the lawful purposes of the organization permitted to conduct the game.
C. 
No single prize shall exceed the sum or value of $250.
D. 
No series of prizes on any one occasion shall aggregate more than $1,000.
E. 
No person except a bona fide member of any such organization shall participate in the management or operation of such game.
F. 
No person shall receive any remuneration for participating in the management or operation of any such game.
G. 
The unauthorized conduct of a bingo game and any willful violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor.

It shall be lawful for the game of bingo to be conducted under any license issued by the Town of Greenport on the first day of the week, commonly known and designated as Sunday.
