There shall be a five-member Conservation Commission, with two alternate members, and the Commission shall have all the powers as set forth in General Statutes § 7-131a, as amended. The terms of office of said members shall be four-year overlapping terms. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for four years to fill those terms which have expired. The Board of Selectmen shall fill future appointments and vacancies for the duration of the term.
A. 
The Conservation Commission is authorized to promulgate amendments to the Inland Wetland and Watercourse Regulations, in conformity with regulations promulgated by the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, as are necessary to protect the wetlands and watercourses, as defined by General Statutes §§ 22a-28 through 22a-45, inclusive.

B. 
The Conservation Commission is authorized to amend such regulations from time to time in accordance with said statutes, and all amendments adopted heretofore by the Commission, in accordance with said statutes, are hereby ratified.
