The permit fees for tennis court privileges shall be as set from time to time by resolution of Borough Council.[1]

The rules of play for the tennis courts shall be as follows:
A. 
All players must have permits to use the courts from May 1 to September 30 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, excepting holidays, and from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Permits must be worn or carried by the players, or be at courtside, when the players are using the courts.
B. 
Individuals and/or groups are limited to one hour of play only. After completing play, resignup is permitted provided a court is then available. The signup board shall be for the purpose of scheduling and enforcing this subsection. Use of the board is as follows:
(1) 
The board is to be signed in chalk specifying the hour to be reserved. Names and permit numbers must both appear.
(2) 
Signups can only be made on the day one wishes to play.
(3) 
A grace period of 10 minutes is allowed. Failure to appear within the said 10 minutes shall forfeit the reservation for the court.
(4) 
Resignup is permitted only after completing play.
C. 
No guests are permitted to use the facilities during the hours set forth in Subsection A above. During these hours all players are required to have permits. Guests and non-permit-holders are permitted to play on the courts from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, excepting holidays, when access to the courts is without charge.
D. 
Sneakers or other appropriate footwear must be worn on the courts at all times.
E. 
Profanity or other unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. All tennis courtesies shall be observed.
F. 
No tennis lessons shall be given for private profit. Anyone found doing so shall have his or her permit revoked.
G. 
If a non-permit-holder is found to be on the court playing with a permit holder, it is the permit holder who is responsible for the actions and who will be considered in violation of this article and the rules of play for the tennis courts. Any penalties shall accrue to the permit holder(s) on the court with a person or persons who are not permit holders.

A. 
In the event that the Catasauqua Area School District wishes to use the tennis court(s) for recreation or tennis instruction while school is in session, the Borough Manager shall have the authority to grant permission to use the court(s) during school hours. There shall be no fee for the School District use of the court(s) during school hours.
B. 
In the event that any organization wishes to reserve the court(s) for its exclusive use, applications shall be made to the Borough Manager indicating the name of the organization wishing to reserve the court(s), the time period for which the reservation is being made and the hours during which the court(s) will be reserved. The Borough Manager shall have authority to grant permission to the organization to reserve the court(s) subject to their availability, submission of a certificate of insurance in a minimum amount of $500,000 naming the Borough as an additional insured and making it primary insurance, and a payment of a reservation fee. The fee shall be set by Borough Council, by resolution, from time to time.[1]

C. 
In receiving and considering requests for reservation of a court(s), organizations based in the Borough will have the exclusive opportunity to reserve the court(s) during November and December of the year preceding the year for which the reservation is being made. From and after January 1, reservations will be taken and considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
D. 
Any organization which has received approval to reserve a tennis court or courts shall have the exclusive use of the court so reserved for a period of time as set forth in the approval for a reservation of the court or courts not exceeding three hours per day every day for the term of the reservation. If set forth in the application, this will also include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The provisions of this article shall be enforced through the Borough Manager, who may designate the Catasauqua Tennis Advisory Committee or other competent persons with the responsibility for enforcing the regulations specified herein.

A. 
Any persons violating any of the provisions of this article can have their tennis privileges revoked for a period up to one year by the Borough Manager or his designate.
B. 
In the event of failure to comply with a decision of the Borough Manager or his designate, the penalty for violating the provisions of this article shall be revocation of tennis privileges for one year plus a fine up to a maximum of $300, plus the costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine, imprisonment in Lehigh County Prison for a period of not more than 90 days.
C. 
Any person found guilty of violating an ordinance shall be assessed court costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred by the Borough in the enforcement proceedings.
