The rules of play for the tennis courts shall
be as follows:
A. All players must have permits to use the courts from
May 1 to September 30 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.,
Mondays through Fridays, excepting holidays, and from 7:00 a.m. to
10:00 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Permits must be worn
or carried by the players, or be at courtside, when the players are
using the courts.
B. Individuals and/or groups are limited to one hour
of play only. After completing play, resignup is permitted provided
a court is then available. The signup board shall be for the purpose
of scheduling and enforcing this subsection. Use of the board is as
follows:
(1) The board is to be signed in chalk specifying the
hour to be reserved. Names and permit numbers must both appear.
(2) Signups can only be made on the day one wishes to
play.
(3) A grace period of 10 minutes is allowed. Failure to
appear within the said 10 minutes shall forfeit the reservation for
the court.
(4) Resignup is permitted only after completing play.
C. No guests are permitted to use the facilities during the hours set forth in Subsection
A above. During these hours all players are required to have permits. Guests and non-permit-holders are permitted to play on the courts from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, excepting holidays, when access to the courts is without charge.
D. Sneakers or other appropriate footwear must be worn
on the courts at all times.
E. Profanity or other unsportsmanlike conduct will not
be tolerated. All tennis courtesies shall be observed.
F. No tennis lessons shall be given for private profit.
Anyone found doing so shall have his or her permit revoked.
G. If a non-permit-holder is found to be on the court
playing with a permit holder, it is the permit holder who is responsible
for the actions and who will be considered in violation of this article
and the rules of play for the tennis courts. Any penalties shall accrue
to the permit holder(s) on the court with a person or persons who
are not permit holders.
[Amended 9-8-1998 by Ord. No. 1085]

to grant permission to use the court(s) during school hours. There
shall be no fee for the School District use of the court(s) during
school hours.
