The purpose of this chapter is to augment who is specially authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets in the enforcement of the Code of the Village of Rye Brook pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
APPEARANCE TICKET
A written notice or citation issued and subscribed by a police officer or other public servant, directing a designated person to appear in a designated local criminal court at a designated future time in connection with an alleged commission of a designated offense.

Pursuant to § 150.20 of the Criminal Procedure Law of the State of New York, the following Village officials and public servants are hereby authorized to issue appearance tickets for violations of the Code of the Village of Rye Brook and the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code:
A. 
The Director of Public Works, Building Inspector, Assistant Building Inspector, and Code Enforcement Officer.

A. 
The village officials and public servants identified in § 16-3 are hereby authorized to issue appearance tickets for violations of the provisions of Chapter 825 of the Laws of Westchester County, the Westchester County Source Separation Law.
B. 
The Director of Public Works shall have all the powers of the Commissioner of Environmental Facilities and the Village Attorney shall have all the powers of the County Attorney related to enforcement, as required by § 825.80, Subsection 6, of the Laws of Westchester County, subject to the provisions of Subsection C of this section.
C. 
No enforcement action under Chapter 825 of the Laws of Westchester County, other than prosecution of a violation in local court, shall be taken without the previous approval of the Board of Trustees.
