As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
INLET BOARDWALK/DOCK AREA
All Town owned and maintained boardwalks running along the northerly
shoreline of Fifth Lake Outlet, and the dock area extending from the shoreline
into the waters of Fourth Lake at the Arrowhead Property owned by the Town
of Inlet.
OWNER
The person actually holding title to a vessel.
PERSON
An individual, partnership, corporation or association.
VESSEL
Any floating craft as defined in § 2 of the Navigation
Law of the State of New York and for the purposes of this article shall also
include row boats, canoes, and personal watercraft.
All landowners with real property fronting on said boardwalks along
the Fifth Lake Outlet shall be exempt from this article.
The Supervisor of the Town of Inlet shall obtain and erect appropriate
signs adequately advising the public of the parking regulations set forth
herein.
All persons using the Town of Inlet's boardwalks and dock areas
do so at their own risk, and the Town of Inlet accepts no liability for any
damage, loss, or theft of vessels, equipment, or contents thereof arising
out of the use of said Town of Inlet boardwalks and docks areas.

The purpose of this article is to promote the health, safety and general
welfare of the community, including the protection and preservation of the
shoreline properties on Fifth Lake of the Fulton Chain of Lakes, in the Town
of Inlet, Hamilton County, New York, by establishing regulations governing
the wake and speed of vessels operated on Fifth Lake. The intent is to prohibit
vessels on Fifth Lake from being operated in a manner which causes an unreasonable
wake or at a speed in excess of five miles per hour.
For the purposes of this article, the following words, terms and phrases
shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this section:
OPERATOR
An individual who operates or navigates a vessel.
OWNER
A person actually holding title to a vessel.
PERSON
An individual, partnership, corporation or association.
VESSEL
Any floating craft and shall include public vessel, residential vessel,
pleasure vessel, personal watercraft and specialty prop craft, all as defined
by the Navigation Law of the State of New York.
The Town Board of the Town of Inlet shall cause a sign to be conspicuously
placed, notifying owners and operators of vessels that Fifth Lake is a "Vessel
Regulation Zone" and that vessels may not be operated in a manner to cause
an unreasonable wake, and in no event in excess of five miles per hour on
Fifth Lake.
