No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle
in an area designated for handicapped parking, unless the vehicle
bears a permit issued under § 1203-a of the Vehicle and
Traffic Law or a registration issued under § 404-a of the
Vehicle and Traffic Law and such vehicle is being used for the transportation
of a severely disabled or handicapped person as defined in the Vehicle
and Traffic Law.

The following parking spaces are designated
and shall be posted for handicapped parking, in addition to other
spaces designated for such parking:
A violation of this article shall be punishable
by a fine of $50 for each offense.
