The purpose of this chapter is to define the position of Village Assessor for the Village of West Carthage, pursuant to the provisions of § 3-301, Subdivision 2b, of the Village Law of the State of New York.
A. 
Preparation of assessment roll.
(1) 
The Assessor of the Village of West Carthage will be responsible for preparing the assessment roll for real property located in the Village of West Carthage and filing said assessment roll with the Village Clerk of the Village of West Carthage.
(2) 
Said preparation of the Village assessment roll will include entering assessments of new construction in the Village of West Carthage, undertaken prior to December 31.
(3) 
Assessment roll preparation will also include entering exemptions from real property taxation for property in the Village of West Carthage.
B. 
The Assessor shall also represent the Village on real property tax grievance day and is empowered to make changes on the real property tax assessment roll.
C. 
The Assessor of the Village of West Carthage shall prepare an annual assessor's report to be submitted to New York State Division of Equalization and Assessment.[1]

D. 
The Assessor shall not be limited to the duties herein enumerated.
The Assessor of the Village of West Carthage shall be appointed by the Village Board for a period of one year.
