No child under the age of 16 years shall be in or upon any of the streets, parks or public places in the Village of West Carthage, Jefferson County, New York, during the nighttime after the hour of 10:00 p.m. of prevailing time, except during the period from May 1 to Labor Day, inclusive, of each year, when the time shall be extended to 10:30 p.m., daylight saving time, unless such child is accompanied by its parent, guardian or other person having legal care or control of such child.
No parent, guardian or other person having the legal care and custody of any child under the age of 16 years shall allow or permit such child or ward under such age to be in or upon any of the streets, parks or public places in said Village of West Carthage after the hour of 10:00 p.m. of prevailing time, except during the period from May 1 to Labor Day, inclusive, of each year, when said time shall be extended to 10:30 p.m., daylight saving time.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GUARDIAN OR OTHER PERSON
Any relative or any person over the age of 21 years having been granted supervision of a child by the parents or legal guardian of such child.
The Board of Trustees of the Village of West Carthage shall have the power to exercise at its discretion the right to grant certain privileges to extend the curfew to the students attending the school system of the Village of West Carthage, when requested to do so by the supervising principal, to those students under the age of 16 years the right to attend certain functions in connection with junior and senior events, including dances, ball games or any other function which the supervising principal believes necessary for the good of the students attending the school system of the Village of West Carthage.
Any fine for violation of any of the provisions of this article shall be assessed against and paid by the parent, guardian or other person having legal care or control of any child violating this article.
The minimum fine for violation of this article shall be $10 for the first offense, with a maximum fine not to exceed $250.

There shall be a curfew for the Firemen's Park and Village Park and Boat Launch which are located on South Main Street. No one will be allowed in those areas after 9:00 p.m. unless given permission by the Village Board.

There shall be a curfew for the entirety of Getman Park (tax parcel Nos. 86.47-1-2.2, 86.47-1-7, 86.47-1-8, 86.47-1-14) located on Franklin Street in the Village of West Carthage. No one will be allowed to enter or remain in the park between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless given special written permission by the Village Board of Trustees.
