The survey, plan and system for the numbering
of houses and buildings as prepared by the Hilltown Township Engineer,
dated September 11, 1970, and as subsequently amended by Hilltown
Township, is hereby approved and adopted as amended, and made a part
of this chapter.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
BUILDING
Any structure used or intended to be used as a dwelling or
place of business or industry, and shall include any public buildings,
religious and institutional buildings.
It shall be unlawful to cover any house number
with any sign, drapery, or other obstruction tending to conceal such
number and all old numbers shall be removed from any building or structure
whenever a new number has been assigned by the Township.
Any person who violates or permits a violation
of this chapter shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding brought
before a District Justice under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal
Procedure, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be punishable
by a fine of not more than $1,000, plus costs of prosecution. In default
of payment thereof, the defendant may be sentenced to imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 90 days. Each day or portion thereof that
such violation continues or is permitted to continue shall constitute
a separate offense, and each section of this chapter that is violated
shall also constitute a separate offense.
