The Borough Council shall appoint annually by resolution prior
to the commencement of each fiscal year an auditor who shall be a
certified public accountant, a firm of certified public accountants,
a competent independent public accountant or a firm of independent
public accountants to audit the accounts and other evidences of financial
transactions of the Borough of Jenkintown and the Borough officials
for the fiscal year then closing, such audit to be submitted in a
report to Borough Council.
The Borough Auditors now in office shall continue to hold their
office during the term to which they have been elected and shall perform
the other duties of their office, except the audit to be performed
by the appointed Auditor as heretofore provided.
