In accordance with the provisions of the Revised Statutes of the State
of New Jersey, N.J.S.A. 43:12-28.1 et seq., and subject to the provisions
of this chapter, a pension shall be paid to the widow or to the minor children
of a volunteer fire fighter who has died or shall have died as a result of
injuries sustained in the course of performance of duty as a member of any
volunteer fire company existing and recognized within the Township of Pennsauken.

A. As to all members of the Pennsauken Township Fire Department
who are entitled to accident and sickness benefits and whose widows and children
are entitled to pension benefits under the terms and conditions of that certain
Group Accident Policy No. ABL:621201, issued by The Life Insurance Company
of North America, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and any renewal thereof or replacement
thereof, the pension payable pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, provided
the terms of said policy shall so provide, shall be $5,000 annually, payable
to the widow of said volunteer fire fighter during her widowhood, or to the
minor child or children of such fire fighter if he leaves no widow surviving
him, or to such minor child or children after the death of said widow.
B. As to all other members of the Pennsauken Township Volunteer Fire Company who by terms and conditions of the policy of insurance referred to in Subsection
A are excluded from the benefits provided in said policy, the pension shall be $2,500 annually, which shall be paid the widow during her widowhood, or to the minor children or child of such fire fighter if he leaves no widow surviving him, or to such minor child or children after the death of such widow.
The Township Committee, after adopting a resolution providing for the
payment of any such pension, shall make provision in its budget for the payment
of such pension, which shall be paid in the same manner as municipal employees
are paid.
