There is hereby adopted by the Township of River Vale, for the purpose
of establishing a Swimming Pool Code, that certain code known as "Swimming
Pool Code of New Jersey (1955)," said code being hereby adopted by the Township
of River Vale by reference, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:49-5.1. A copy of said
code so intended to be adopted is annexed hereto, and three copies of said
code have been placed on file in the office of the Township Clerk and will
remain on file there until further action is taken on this article, for the
use and examination of the public. Said code is hereby adopted as the official
Swimming Pool Code of the Township of River Vale, and shall be known and may
be cited as "River Vale Swimming Pool Code (1957)," excepting so much thereof
as may be amended, supplemented, changed or altered by and in this article.
The aforesaid "Swimming Pool Code of New .Jersey (1955)" is hereby amended,
supplemented, changed or altered in the following respects:
A. Wherever the words "administrative authority" shall appear
in said code, the same shall be read and construed to mean, Board of Health
of the Township of River Vale.
B. Wherever the word "construct" shall appear in said code,
the same shall be read and construed to mean and include the erection, building
or installation of a new swimming pool or enlarging or in any manner changing
or altering an existing swimming pool or any of its facilities.

No person, firm or corporation shall locale, construct, alter or operate
a swimming pool until a license or a permit therefor shall have been issued
by the Board of Health and in connection therewith the following fees may
be charged by the Board:
A. Five hundred fifty dollars for year-round indoor pools.
B. Four hundred dollars for seasonal outdoor pools.
C. Two hundred dollars for wading pools.
E. All permits issued for the operation of
a swimming pool shall expire annually on the first day of April in each year,
and application for renewal thereof shall be submitted together with the required
fee prior to said first day of April in each year.
F. Permits acquired by this article or the code herein referred
to may be denied or suspended by the Board of Health, but the holder of any
such permit shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard, before the suspension
or revocation of any permit, and have a reasonable opportunity to correct
any condition not meeting the requirements of such code or allegedly constituting
such swimming pool a health hazard or a potential health hazard.
In charging any violation of the provisions hereof or of the aforesaid
code which is adopted by reference, as the same may be modified hereby, it
shall be necessary only to refer to the section or subsections appearing herein
or in said code, so adopted by reference, and to refer to the same by the
same section or subsection as may appear herein or therein.
