The discharge, firing or use of any gun, pistol or firearm of any description whatsoever at any place whatsoever in the Borough of Riverdale is hereby specifically prohibited.
The Borough Council of the Borough of Riverdale may, upon proper application being made to said Borough Council, give specific permission to a person, association or corporation for limited periods of time in certain places of the Borough, to discharge or use a gun, pistol or firearm in the Borough of Riverdale for sport, recreation or the protection of property. The granting or denial of any permission under this section shall be in the complete and sole discretion of the Borough Council of the Borough of Riverdale.

Any person, persons, associations or corporations discharging, firing or using any gun, pistol or firearms of any description whatsoever, contrary to the terms of this article shall, upon conviction under this article, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the court imposing the same.

No person shall, within the territorial limits of the Borough of Riverdale, hunt or attempt to hunt, trap, kill, destroy or injure, pursue with intent to kill or injure, or in any manner attempt to take or injure any wildlife or game birds or game animals, with any firearm, gun, pistol, rifle and/or by the use of bow and arrow, at any time, during any season, notwithstanding that same may be permitted in other areas of the state.
Nothing in the within article shall prohibit the use of firearms for the protection of life, person or property. The provisions of the within article shall not apply to any pistol, gunshot or rifle range equipped with proper safeguards for protection of life and property, or operated by any club under the control and supervision of the duly constituted officers of such club. However, all of the aforementioned ranges shall have been inspected by the Police Chief and the use of such range recommended by him and approved by the Borough Council.

Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 or to imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the Judge before whom such conviction shall be heard.
