There is hereby established the office of Supervising
Maintenance Repairer in the Borough of Seaside Heights.
The Supervising Maintenance Repairer shall be
appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough
Council, and shall serve a term of one year, commencing on January
1 of the year of appointment and ending on December 31 of that year,
or until a successor or successors shall be appointed and qualified.
To be appointed to the office of Supervising
Maintenance Repairer, an individual must possess three years' experience
in performing varied building maintenance and repair tasks and possess
a driver's license valid in New Jersey, only if the operation of a
vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential
duties of the position. The Supervising Maintenance Repairer may be
required to possess a boiler operator's license of appropriate grade
and type as required by the Department of Labor.
The duties of Supervising Maintenance Repairer,
under direction, shall be to supervise and work with a group of employees
engaged in the performance of various maintenance and repair tasks,
such as those involved in electrical work, masonry, painting, plastering,
carpentry, plumbing, steam fitting, roofing and other work involved
in the upkeep of buildings and other structures. The Supervising Maintenance
Repairer shall also perform such other related work as required.
