There shall be a Township Engineer appointed
by the Township Committee for a term prescribed by law. He/she shall
be a duly licensed professional engineer in the State of New Jersey.
The Township Engineer shall perform the duties
prescribed by general law and Township ordinance. He/she shall, as
directed by the Township Committee or other individual(s)/board/body,
where applicable, handle duties, but not limited to the following.
He/she shall:
A. Prepare or cause to be prepared plans, designs and
specifications for public works, roads and improvements undertaken
by the Township, either on force account or by public contract.
B. Provide and maintain surveys, maps, plans, specifications
and control records with respect to public works and facilities owned
and/or operated by the Township.
C. Provide technical and engineering advice and assistance
to the Road Department, Land Use Board, Zoning Board and Township
Committee as needed.

D. Upon the termination of his/her service with the Township,
surrender all papers, documents, memoranda, reports and other materials
relating to the administration of his/her engineering duties.
The Township Engineer shall be compensated pursuant
to an approved professional services agreement, as well as any other
terms and conditions of employment related to said position. Said
professional services agreement shall be approved by the Township
Committee.
