9-3 of the 1975 Code]
There exist certain areas within the Township where the system of numbering
of buildings and lots in the municipality is unclear, confusing and inadequate
for purposes of Township business and for purposes of convenience to the owners
and occupants, and there have been repeated requests by residents of the municipality
to correct the situation. There is on file with the Township Clerk a certain
report and numbering system prepared by the Township Engineer and relating
to the areas known as “Fishing Creek Road,” and labeled with the
following designation: Plan...Renumbering Fishing Creek Road for the Township
of Lower, Cape May County, New Jersey, November 1974 (Sheet No. 1).
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:67-1(j), the above referred to building and
lot numbering system is adopted for all purposes.
The Township Engineer and the Township Solicitor are directed to notify
all residents and property owners affected by the numbering system of the
change in the numbering system and that the change is to be henceforth utilized
by the persons so affected.
All Township officials are hereby directed to change all records or
other documents to reflect the above-mentioned numbering system, and are henceforth
directed to utilize the revised system for all matters of Township business
and concern.
The Township Clerk is hereby directed to notify the United States Postal
Department of the changed numbering system and request its compliance with
the revised system for purposes of United States postal business.
All residents or property owners of the subject area are directed to
take such actions, and accomplish such notices as may be necessary to set
their personal affairs so as to reflect the change of numbering accomplished
by this article.
