Editor's Note: This ordinance also provided for the merging of the Department of Engineering and the Department of Fire, Building and Zoning Code Enforcement into the Department of Building and Engineering.
The functions of the Department of Building and Engineering Services shall work in conjunction with the independent Engineer in the administration and direction of Municipal activity pertaining to:
A. 
The provision of engineering services, including, but not limited to:
(1) 
Street and highway design;
(2) 
Sewer system design;
(3) 
Traffic engineering;
(4) 
Construction inspection of public works;
(5) 
Rights-of-way;
(6) 
Surveying;
(7) 
Street construction;
(8) 
Streetlighting;
(9) 
Traffic signalization;
(10) 
Drainage system design;
(11) 
Mapping and public works information keeping;
(12) 
Traffic signal repair;
(13) 
Grading and excavation.
B. 
The provision of building and code inspection services, including, but not limited to:
(1) 
Building Code and safety inspection;
(2) 
Building permit issuance; and
(3) 
Fire and safety activities.
The Department of Engineering shall be coordinated with other Municipal departments under the direction of the Director.
