There is hereby created in Mount Pleasant Township a Park and Recreation Board.
The authority of said Park and Recreation Board is to equip, supervise and maintain parks, recreation areas and facilities, and to conduct recreation programs and recreation facilities in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Second Class Township Code.

The Mount Pleasant Township Park and Recreation Board is hereby restructured such that it shall consist of five members, all of whom shall be residents of Mount Pleasant Township. The said five members of the Park and Recreation Board shall serve for terms of five years or until their successors are appointed, and such members of the Board as are currently serving their appointments shall continue until expiration of their appointed terms.
Members of such Board shall serve without pay and all persons appointed shall serve their full terms unless voluntarily resigned or removed by the Supervisors for dereliction or neglect of duty. Vacancies of such Board occurring otherwise, or by expiration of office, shall be for the unexpired term and shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments.
Said Park and Recreation Board shall have all the authority and power as prescribed in the Second Class Township Code, more particularly the Act of May 1, 1933, P.L. 103, as amended (53 P.S. § 65101 et seq.)
