It shall be unlawful for any person to make any connection or maintain any existing connection of roof downspouts, roof drainage, exterior foundation drains, areaway drains, absorption drains or any other sources of surface runoff or groundwater to a building sewer or building drain which is, in turn, connected directly or indirectly to a public or sanitary sewer, it being expressly understood that the sanitary sewer system is for the conveyance and treatment of sanitary sewage and liquid waste only.
Any person found to be violating any provision of this Part 2 shall be served by the Borough of Punxsutawney with written notice stating the nature of the violation and providing a reasonable time limit for the satisfactory correction thereof. The offender shall, within the period of time stated in such notice, permanently cease all violations.
Any person who shall continue any violation beyond the time limit provided for in § 192-23.2 hereof shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be fined in an amount not exceeding $500 for each violation, plus costs of prosecution. Each day in which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense.
