[Adopted 5-10-1993]
A.
The Board of County Commissioners recently adopted a Safety Policy.[1] The first step is to appoint a fire marshal from each department, i.e., someone responsible for making certain the department is evacuated when the fire alarm sounds.

Editor's Note: See Art. II, Safety Policy Statement, of this chapter.
B.
The name of a fire marshal and an assistant fire marshal from each department should be submitted, and the Board of County Commissioners will inform the departments of the responsibility of each individual. The demands of this position are not great, just simply necessary. Someone has to be on the ball when disaster strikes.
A.
Included in the fire marshal/assistant fire marshal's information packet of responsibilities will be the first aid kit required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act. It would make it much easier if the fire marshal/assistant fire marshal were knowledgeable and able to administer some basic first aid should there be some minor scratches and bruises. Certified training of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can be arranged.
B.
Please volunteer those needed from your department. The Board of County Commissioners suggests that each department utilize people who will primarily spend most of their day in the office. In order to be effective, everyone must cooperate.
