[Adopted 6-30-1976 by L.L. No. 3-1976 (Ch. 35, Art. I, of the 1968 Compilation)]
Pursuant to Subdivision 2c of § 3-301 of the Village Law, there is hereby created the office of Superintendent of Sewers.
The Superintendent of Sewers shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of a majority of the Board of Trustees. The term of office of the Superintendent of Sewers shall be one official year, as defined in Subdivision 1 of § 3-302 of the Village Law. The Superintendent of Sewers shall serve without salary or at such annual salary as the Board of Trustees shall, by resolution, establish. The Superintendent of Sewers shall, in any event, be reimbursed for any and all actual costs, disbursements and expenses reasonably and necessarily incurred in the execution of the duties of the office upon presentation to the Village Treasurer of quarterly vouchers for same, which vouchers, if approved, shall be paid within 30 days.
The Superintendent of Sewers, subject to the direction of the Mayor and Board of Trustees, shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
A. 
To see to the application and enforcement of those portions of Chapter 220 of this Code[1] dealing with mandatory sewer utilization, technical standards for sewer interconnection, sewer use regulations and restrictions, metering of water consumption and prohibited acts and violations.

B. 
To conduct such inspections, measurement, sampling or testing on public and private property authorized by § 220-5.1 of this Code as may be necessary and incidental to the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
C. 
At the request of the Village Treasurer, to conduct such inspections and take such measurements as may be necessary to properly fix and compute sewer rents and other charges that may be imposed under Chapter 220 of this Code.
D. 
To receive, consider and determine in the first instance applications to use or interconnect with the Village sewer system.
E. 
At the request of the Mayor or Board of Trustees, to render periodic reports concerning the condition of the sewer system and treatment plant and the desirability of expanding or extending same.
F. 
To perform such other duties not inconsistent with the office of Superintendent of Sewers as shall from time to time be determined by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
