The purpose of this article is to implement Village Law § 3-300,
Subdivision 2(a), which permits the Board of Trustees to provide that
the Village Clerk may reside in the County of Suffolk and need not
reside in the Village of Sag Harbor.
In lieu of any other residency requirements imposed by law as
a condition of the Village Clerk's holding office, the Village
Clerk shall reside within the County of Suffolk but need not reside
in the Village of Sag Harbor.
