No railroad company shall sound a locomotive whistle or horn operated
by steam, air or electricity within the City limits of the City of Linwood.
Nothing contained herein shall be construed to limit, restrict or otherwise
detract from the obligation of railroad companies to comply with the provisions
of N.J.S.A. 48:12-57.
Nothing contained herein shall be construed to limit or restrict the
obligation of a railroad company to continuously ring an engine bell weighing
not less than 30 pounds when approaching a grade crossing of a highway and
beginning at a distance of at least 300 yards from the crossing and continuing
until the engine has crossed such highway, within the City limits of the City
of Linwood.
Nothing contained herein shall be construed to prohibit a railroad from
utilizing flagmen or other personnel to participate in grade crossings by
locomotive engines within the City limits of the City of Linwood.
For every violation of this article, the company operating such railroad,
upon conviction, shall pay a fine of $100. Each incident at each crossing
shall be deemed to be a separate violation.
