Sexual harassment of any nature is both unlawful
and strictly forbidden by the personnel policies of the Township of
Greenwich. Sexual harassment may include but is not limited to actions
such as:
A. Sexually oriented verbal or written "kidding" or abuse.
B. Subtle pressure for sexual activity.
C. Physical conduct of a sexual nature.
D. Demands for sexual favors accompanied by implied or
overt promises or preferential treatment or threats regarding an individual's
status.
E. Sexual pictures, calendars, graffiti, or sexual objects.
F. Regular use of offensive language, jokes, gestures,
or comments.
If an employee believes they have been the victims
of sexual harassment, they should notify their supervisor or employee
representative. It is the policy of the Township of Greenwich to investigate
all complaints of sexual harassment. The investigation shall be conducted
by the manager, foreman, or supervisor of the department in conjunction
with the employee representative as swiftly and confidentially as
possible. Appropriate disciplinary action, including verbal and written
warnings, suspensions, and discharge will be taken against any person
found to have committed sexual harassment.
