Employees of the Township of Greenwich who are
called to federal or state active duty shall be entitled, upon termination
of active duty, to return to their employment with full seniority
and benefits consistent with state and federal military reemployment
and seniority rights.
During the duration of their active duty, these
employees of the Township of Greenwich shall be entitled to receive
a salary equal to the differential between the employee's Township
salary and the employee's military base pay following the exhaustion
of statutory entitlements to full pay.
If a Township employee's military base pay is greater than his or her Township salary, such that he or she would not receive differential pay under §
120-26 above, that Township employee shall, nonetheless, be entitled to Township employee life insurance and pension coverage during active duty service paid by the Township, with the Township employee's contributory portion of those benefits and programs to be paid by the employee upon his or her return to employment with the Township, after completion of active duty.
The Township employees shall be entitled to
employee health benefits for the duration of their active duty to
the extent that same are not provided by the military as if they were
on paid leave of absence.
