Adoption of Part III of Code by Board of Health — See Ch. 198.
There is hereby established within the Township of Chesterfield a local Board of Health which shall have all of the powers, rights, duties and entitlements conferred upon it by N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq.

The Local Board of Health shall consist of the members of the Township Committee, the Township Assessor, the Township Clerk, and one physician or school nurse to be appointed by the Township Committee. Additionally, there shall be two alternate members designated as "Alternate No. 1" and "Alternate No. 2."

The members of the Board of Health who are also members of the Township Committee shall serve on the Board of Health in terms coextensive with their terms on the Township Committee. The physician or school nurse to be appointed by the Township Committee shall serve for a term of three years from the time of his appointment until his successor is appointed. The terms of the alternate members shall be for two years, except that of the first two alternate members appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year so that the term of not more than one alternate member shall expire in any one year. A vacancy occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be filled by the Township Committee for the unexpired term only.
