This article is being enacted pursuant to the Interlocal Services Act
(N.J.S.A. 40:8A-1 et seq.) to authorize the County of Burlington to construct,
operate and/or maintain an animal shelter facility and to allow this municipality,
among others, to be served by such facility in the performance of this municipality's
powers and duties under N.J.S.A. 40:48-1, Subdivision 11, and N.J.S.A. 4:19-1
et seq.
This municipality may enter into a contract with the County of Burlington
essentially providing that the County of Burlington shall construct, operate
and/or maintain an animal shelter facility and shall further serve this municipality,
among others, by such facility. The Mayor and Clerk of this municipality are
hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of this
municipality.
