The Chief of Police of the Village of Highland Falls is hereby delegated
the power to request and grant police assistance, in accordance with § 209-m
of the state General Municipal Law, whenever he deems that the public interest
requires it, and he may detail, assign and make available for duty and use
in a local government which makes a request for assistance any part of the
forces, equipment and supplies of the Village of Highland Falls Police Department.
The Chief of Police shall attempt to consult with the Mayor prior to requesting
or granting such police assistance. The term "Chief of Police" shall mean
the Village Chief of Police and shall include any Village of Highland Falls
police officer in command of the Police Department during the absence, illness
or disability of the Chief of Police or who is authorized to exercise the
powers of the Chief of Police in emergency situations.
