The First Selectman shall appoint and may remove,
each such action with the approval of the Selectmen, an Assessor who
shall be qualified by training and experience, shall have been certified
as a qualified tax assessor by the State of Connecticut, and who shall
serve on a full-time basis for a term not to exceed five years, the
length of said term to be determined by the Board of Selectmen. Said
Assessor shall have all the powers and duties as may be prescribed
by the Selectmen and all powers and duties prescribed by the Connecticut
General Statutes. Said Assessor may appoint and may remove, subject
to the approval of the First Selectman and subject to such rules and
regulations concerning Town employees as may be adopted by the Selectmen,
all deputies, assistants or employees in his office.
This chapter shall take effect on November 4,
1975.
