As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AUTOMATIC ALARMS SYSTEMS
A system or device owned, leased, or operated by a property owner in the Township of Commercial, designed or intended to summon the aid of a fire company or police to such property in the Township of Commercial.
ERRONEOUS REPORT
The summoning by an alarm system of a fire company or police to property in the Township of Commercial when in fact no fire, heat or other fire-related emergency or evidence of a break-in or disturbance exists, whether through malfunction of the alarm system or otherwise.
The operator, lessee, or owner of property on which an alarm is located from which more than two erroneous alarm reports are received during a calendar year beginning January 1 shall be deemed in violation of this chapter.
Violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of $50 for a first offense and $100 for a subsequent offense occurring within the calendar year period provided for under § 73-2 above.
